Terms of Service

Effective date: February 21, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of LessonDebrief, operated by OnFire Lab, LLC ("we," "us," or "OnFire Lab"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use LessonDebrief.

1. Description of the service

LessonDebrief is a web-based training workflow tool for certificated flight instructors (CFIs) and student pilots. CFIs log lesson debriefs, and automated agents generate study pack drafts which CFIs review, edit, and send to their students. Students use the packs to prepare for their next lesson. Students may optionally share their study packs with others via private, read-only links.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use LessonDebrief. If you are under 18, you represent that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. By using the service, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Certain features — including logging lessons and inviting students — require a verified email address. If you register as a CFI, you agree to provide your real, verifiable name. We periodically verify CFI credentials and may suspend accounts where credentials cannot be confirmed. You agree to notify us immediately at support@lessondebrief.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes on the rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service, servers, or networks
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the service without our written consent
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service

5. AI-generated content

LessonDebrief uses automated agents (powered by third-party AI services) to generate study pack drafts, including takeaways, study plans, oral questions, and FAA references. Content produced by these agents is provided as a draft for CFI review. It may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies.

The CFI is solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving all content before sending it to a student. LessonDebrief does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of agent-generated content for any specific training purpose. Agent-generated content does not constitute flight instruction, legal advice, or FAA guidance.

6. Shared study packs

CFIs and students may each share individual study packs via a private, unguessable link. Each role has an independent sharing toggle. Shared packs are read-only and display limited information (pack content, send date, and the instructor's first name and last initial). Shared links are not indexed by search engines.

By enabling sharing, you acknowledge that anyone with the link can view the pack's content. You may revoke sharing at any time, which immediately disables your link without affecting the other party's link. You are responsible for who you share the link with. LessonDebrief is not responsible for any further distribution of shared content by third parties.

7. Not a substitute for flight instruction

LessonDebrief is a supplementary study tool. It is not a substitute for in-person flight instruction, FAA-approved training materials, or the judgment of a certificated flight instructor. All flight training decisions remain the responsibility of the CFI and the student. We make no representations regarding FAA compliance, airworthiness, or safety outcomes.

8. Intellectual property

Your content: You retain ownership of all lesson data, debrief notes, and edits you create. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service to you.

Our content: The LessonDebrief name, logo, website design, and underlying software are the property of OnFire Lab, LLC. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without written permission.

9. Billing and subscriptions

LessonDebrief offers free and paid subscription tiers for CFIs. Students always use the service for free. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe and auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled.

We may change subscription rates from time to time. If we increase the price of your current plan, we will notify you by email at least three (3) months before the new rate takes effect. You may cancel before the new rate applies. Continuing your subscription after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated rate.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access to paid features until then. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods.

The Instructor and Chief plans include a thirty (30)-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your paid subscription, you may request a full refund within thirty (30) days of your initial payment by contacting us at support@lessondebrief.com. This guarantee applies once per account and only to the first payment on a paid plan. Subsequent billing cycles are not eligible for the money-back guarantee but may still be canceled at any time as described above.

If payment fails, your subscription may be moved to a past-due state. We will attempt to collect payment according to Stripe's retry schedule. If payment cannot be collected, your subscription may be canceled and your account will revert to the free tier.

10. Privacy

Your use of LessonDebrief is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Service availability and changes

We strive to keep LessonDebrief available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the service.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OnFire Lab, LLC and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of LessonDebrief.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

LessonDebrief is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that agent-generated content is accurate, complete, or suitable for flight training purposes.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OnFire Lab, LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

15. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@lessondebrief.com. We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. We will delete your personal data within 30 days of account closure, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of LessonDebrief shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the site at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of LessonDebrief after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
